A soft, nostalgic Surrey Newborn Photoshoot – Sienna’s first days at home

Two days after Christmas, in the soft quiet that lingers between one year and the next, I stepped into a homecoming. The kind that isn’t just about crossing a threshold, but about stepping into a new chapter – one where life has forever changed.

Instantly feeling welcomed into their Surrey home, I knew this was going to be a wonderful Newborn Photoshoot

Some things just feel lived in – softened by time, carrying the quiet weight of memories. The rocking chair and dresser in Sienna’s nursery had that feeling, a nostalgic warmth that made me ask about their story. And I’m so glad I did.

Once, they sat in Sienna’s mother’s childhood bedroom, holding tiny moments of a girl who would one day grow into the woman rocking her own baby to sleep. Now, they sit in Sienna’s nursery, stuffed with a mix of old and new; childhood teddies nestled beside brand-new ones, a space that so delicately weaves nostalgia with newness.

A history repeating itself in the most poetic way—the daughter who became the mother of her own daughter, in a room filled with echoes of her own childhood.

And at her feet, ever watchful, sat Flynn; the family’s first baby in his own right. Perched on Sienna’s mother’s lap as she nursed, as if to remind everyone (including himself) that he, too, was once cradled in her arms. A quiet protector, a little jealous, a little tender.

Because home isn’t just where you live – it’s something you feel in your bones.

It’s where everything makes sense: your history, the things you inherit, both tangible and unseen. It’s the way you are loved, the way love lingers in spaces and objects, waiting to be passed down.

Welcoming a new life is one of the most tender ways to love—both fierce and gentle, a chance to be generous in gestures. A name embroidered on a delicate cardigan. A childhood toy, treasured and given new purpose. The quiet I love yous that are whispered through generations.

And what an honour it is to witness it all—to step into these sacred spaces, where love exists in its purest form, wrapped in the everyday details that make a house a home.

Welcome home, Sienna.
